Case study: COP28 Health Letter

Climate Acceptance Studios project managed the COP28 Health Letter, signed by health leaders representing 46.3 million workers and with a reach of over 589 million.

"The Global Climate and Health Alliance and Health Care Without Harm came together for the COP28 Health Letter campaign, This open letter to the president of COP28, calling for the urgent phase-out of fossil fuels, was signed by health leaders representing 46.3 million workers.

Tom from Climate Acceptance Studios came on board to project manage. He ran all stakeholder meetings, oversaw website development and the media campaign, nurtured key relationships up to and during COP28 itself, and produced the campaign video.

The project was a great success - the bond between the major stakeholders became stronger, the media campaign enjoyed a reach of 589M, the video had 500k views online. Most importantly of all, the phase-out of fossil fuels became a key talking point at the inaugural 'Health Day" - both on stage and behind the scenes - and the need to end fossil fuels was also included in the final text for the first time in COP's history.

Tom's project management skills, strategic input and nuanced facilitation work were key. A communications or advocacy project's chance of success would increase if Tom and the team at Climate Acceptance Studies were involved."
